p0407

But now I dont hear the turbo whistle at all at an idle like I used to and its throwing the p0470 code now.
Any input?

Re: p0407

P0470 is an Exhaust Back Pressure Sensor Circuit Error. Check the plug to the EBPS and the sensor itself. If you have a way to monitor live data, look and see what the EBPS is showing with the key on and the engine off.

Key on and engine off it is reading right at 143Hg

Funny that it reads Hg instead of PSI. 143Hg = 70.23psi. KOEO, the EBPS should read about 14psi depending on the elevation you live at. Sounds like either the sensor is bad (most likely) or the wiring is bad (Less likely).

Re: p0407

I can change the readout to psi. I just checked real quick. I'll check out connection and wiringc then I'll breplace it if all checks out.

Re: p0407

Would this sensor going bad give me more turbo lag upon acceleration? And like I say, the turbo doesn't whistle at idle like before..

Re: p0407

It will cause all sorts of issues. Your fuel mileage has probably dropped as well.
