Glow Shift Quad A-Pillar

Figured I would share this in case any other newbs are looking at the Glow Shift quad A-pillar gauge setup. It is a TIGHT fit!! I test fit it before installing any of the gauges and it would barely fit....still rubbed on the dash though on the bottom gauge pod. So, I broke out the heat gun and made a small dimple in the bottom pod. No more rubbing!

Be forewarned though....the instructions state to install the pods on the A-pillar cover and then install the cover onto the truck. Unless you pull the entire dash out about three inches it's not gonna work. The bottom pod gets in the way when trying to get the bottom of the cover into place. It was a bit of a pain to get it installed with the pillar cover already on the truck, but was likely a lot easier than yanking the dash out a few inches.

Oh, and as for running sensor wires out into the engine compartment, there is an easy access route I was unaware of. When looking at the firewall from underneath the dash, you will see three bundles of wires going through rubber grommets. Look slightly above and to the left of the largest bundle. You will see a a section of the insulation that looks like it can come off. Kinda hard to describe and I didn't get a pic. It's rectangular but has a small extension on the right which is about half its height. Anyway, take this off and there is a rubberized foil covering a hole. Just poke with a screwdriver and you have engine compartment access. Just remember to pad the wires well and reseal that hole. I used the insulation to help keep it centered by putting a hole in the middle of it and running wires through there as well.

Hope I at least helped someone out!
