cold air what is the best

What is everyone using in 6.0 I currently have a Banks air flow system and need a new air filter but no one has them in town were i live and have to order from banks and $90 freaking dollars plus shipping for a stinkin air filter to me is outrageous! I am considering going to a k&n system but have had some people say its not good for diesel engine.. will it really hurt anything? the filter thats in my banks system is exactly like a k&n and the afe that a buddy of mine has is same type filter.. Just curious on Y'alls thoughts and opinions...

That filter will last forever, I'm surprised you had to get a new one. Just soak it in simple green then was it out good with a hose sit it on top of a fan and let it dry a couple of hours then re-oil it with the 14 dollar k&n cleaner kit

Re: cold air what is the best

Storm Ive done that 2 times this past year except i havent used simple green just use soap and water then the k&n cleaner kit.. The last time I did it i heated up some water in a huge pot to almost a boil then let the filter sit in the hot water i was amazed the amount of crap that came out of my filter...

K&N is garbage, don't waste your money. What mods do you have? if your not over the magic 475-500hp mark just find an oem setup. Better filtration and will not suffer any performance.

Afe or s&b are the best. Stay away from k&n

2004 Ford F350. 373 rear end. Amsoil, or Redline in everything except motor Rotella T-6. Egr delete, ARP studs, coolant bypass, oil bypass. Add Tcw3 to my fuel. 4 in turbo back, and AFE cold air. Sct x3 with PHP tunes and FICM Atlas 40 tune.
