who here is FICM tuned? I want your opinion

I just bought my 6 liter and I keep hearing about FICM tuning. I hear innovatives is good for 25-30 horse and greatly improves driveability, improves some on fuel economy and gets rid of inductive heating when running the performance flash. Is it worth the 350 bucks for their FICM tuner? Are cold starts really that bad without the inductive heating when the performance tune is loaded? and how much power am I looking at when I run innovatives extreme race tune(pcm) paired with the performance FICM tune. Im just looking for opinions/past experiences before I pop out 350 bucks for it. Thanks.

Re: who here is FICM tuned? I want your opinion

I have the ficm tune from innovative. I didn't notice a real power increase but I did get a lot better throttle response... I lost response when I added the pmax the ficm tuner was a big help

Btw I'm in 10 degree weather I leave it on the performance settings starts fine. I have ran it with extreme street it does a good job but I like the super panty dropper from tsd better, lays down a lot more power. My boots are to heavy to give any mileage results.... I get around 14.5 with 4.10's on 35.5" tires on 24" wheels and I have a dually. You can also get the raped ape tune from drew at back road performance it's comparable to the panty dropper and it $25 cheaper. All three company's (innovative, tsd, back road) have exceptional service. Drew will get your tune the fastest and he will edit until your happy free of charge and he is the price leader

Thats good to hear, I actually did not know what my SCT had for tunes on it when I brought the truck home but I contacted previous owner and one of the tunes is IDP's extreme race. Ill retune with the panty dropper and slap a FICM tune on there and see how I like it. Im the same way you are, I honestly could care less about the fuel mileage I just love being able to blow the tires off of a 3/4 ton truck when I lay into the skinny pedal, definitely didnt buy the truck to get good fuel mileage lol. I'll try it out. Thanks a bunch man.

If your running a stock turbo you can hold off on the ficm tuner until your ready for that upgraded turbo, the panty dropper lays down the power and the shifts are good and firm, it took me five days to get the tune but I will admit it's worth the wait blows the doors off innovatives race x and the tranny makes a big difference. I would also recommend drews tunes he a great guy and will take care of you, you can call him right now and he will have your tune right away $50 raped ape it's worth it. Drew 317-522-8448

Run it tuned with an SCT. Then add the FICM tuning. It will make you ask WHY can't the SCT tuning pull hard down low. For me the low end power gain was the biggest difference. Well worth the investment in a FICM tuner.

Is it not worth adding FICM tuning without the SCT tunes? I dont want to add a programmer until i do studs, which i'm going to wait until i have problems.

FICM tuning is worth it alone, and makes SCT tuning that much better. Either way you want to use it, it just works.

I have the Atlas 40 on mine and really like the added throttle response.
