Which Shocks Do You Like?

My front shocks are done. 22k miles. Dealer will replace but they will let me pay the difference for better shocks. I have no great experience with good shocks. What advice can you folks give me?

Re: Which Shocks Do You Like?

I thought you needed 3 or 4 inches of lift to use DR shocks.

Not on the 05+ trucks.
DR developed a shock to work with their 2.5" leveling systems.....the original poster has a 2.5" SJ listed in his sig., so they will work.

You need to buy the whole kit. I already have the leviling kit. Most guys around here like the Rancho 9000XL. I am not a fan.

What whole kit?

You can purchase shocks individually if you want....

Re: Which Shocks Do You Like?

Hey DC do you know if I can run some DR shocks if I install mini spring pack and x code springs.

I don't think so, 99-04s smallest shock is for a 3-6" lift.

The mini spring pack lifts under the stock springs, so eye to eye is the same.

If you had the eye to eye measurements off of your truck with the x-codes I could check my application guide on the compressed and extended lengths of the DR shocks and see if they will work.
