painting rims?

has anyone spray painted or painted their rims how do you go about that what kinda paint did u use? and is there any prep work i gotta do before? thanks

i painted my rims they where pitted bad and i wanted black rims anyways so i bout spray paint for rims they have it at any auto parts store and i sanded the crap out of my rims and painted them they are holding up so far and look good for how bad the rims looked before i painted them just remeber to sand everything and then clean them i just use prep wipes from auto store also sence there where easy heh

after you sand them, use some adhesion promoter or some kind of self etching primer before you apply your color. At least 3 coats of primer and 4 coats of color to get it to stand up to road use long term

I just sprayed on some Plasti-Dip. Seems to be holding up great even through a pretty rough ride in some bad mud...

I was told hear recently that Les Schwab its powder coating rims now. Not sure on the cost but it might be worth looking into.

Painted my chrome bumpers about 2 months ago. Scuffed them up good. Wiped down with laquer thinner. 2 coats of etching primer. 2 coats of paint. 2 coats of clear. Shine as good as the truck. Holding up good. Used duplicolor paint.
