Re: how hot will it go?

I know that a 100% stock 6.0 will hit 1450* in Colorado, and o ran a 2007 and 2006 at 1300 for hours.

Re: how hot will it go?

not safe, but when i had my truck with the banks, i was seeing numbers in the 1500s....averaged around 1200 ( i was young and dumb)

my numbers are pretty good now...but it spikes every now and then if i go to launch from a light and dont let the turbo spool a bit.......

completley stock truck...just a simple cat back system....and maybe a few other odds and ends

1350 just normal driving? I dk if maybe my gauge isn't right but I don't think my egts have ever gotten to 1350 and just stayed there....I can romp all over mine and it'll barely get to 12, but I guess that's a good thing lol

Re: how hot will it go?

I think I would stay 1300* and less, 1400* on hills. I know stock on flat ground, and a 20,000 lbs 5th wheel in the wind they stayed around 1300*

i would say 13-1350 would be ok, obviously the cooler the better...with out towing im seeing around 900 at 80mph and 2000 rpm...maybe bounces to 1000 pending on how the skinny pedal is being worked, but im more concerned about my WOT temps...they get hot but when the turbo lights...the come right back down

Thanks for the input man!! I'm gonna try not to get over 1300 for very long.

Re: how hot will it go?

Spikes of 1400-1600* are commonly seen on tuned trucks when drag racing, but the consensus is that you want to keep EGT's below 1200* for any extended period of time (like when towing). Most (educated) people will back out of it if they're towing and hit 1200*.
