I love power so stock wont be fun i just wanna know is there a tuner that i can run and not need to do head gaskets in a month i know studs egr delete coolant filter oil cooler are all great suppurating mods but i kinda need to work in a budget for now im just trying to get my ducks in a row before i dive head first into a headache any input will be appreciated! thanks!

canned tunes usually wouldnt blow HG's but others say that lighter custom tunes are just as safe, but once you get into the big boy tunes you better look out. SCT all the way imo

Ive run custom tunes for 30k miles with no problems. keep an eye on temps and that will help alot for saftey! Alot of it depends on the truck. You may or may not have gasket issues. I would just start saving for studs as soon as you buy the truck do your ready if and when they blow.

Re: looking to get a 6.0

It's hard to say, find a nice clean, stock, and by that I mean nothing done chip, gauge, exhaust mods, you will have a better chance, my buddy has a 2003 with 180,000 on it and drives it like a truck, hauls 15000lbs+ atleast 20 times a year, only done 2 injectors, HPOP, and oil cooler. I have 124,000 miles chipped with sct and a powermax turbo since 75,000 or 80,000 miles. And I pull 25000 on a tow tune and up to 15000 on my street tune, and still haven't blown them bolts yet. My 04 went at 70,000 miles and it was driven nice, and it needed head bolts, which they were still good when I sold it at 115,00.
It's a luck game I think. I will say they pull and run great.
