ppe xcelerator

Does anyone run the ppe xcelerator programmer? Or has anyone ran it? Likes dislikes?

PPE is reasonably popular with the Duramax and Common Rail Cummins crowd but HEUIs are a totally different animal. I actually have never heard reviews from a 6.0 driver with one....it maybe but it could not...I willing to bet you are going to get a lot of posts like the one above.

Re: ppe xcelerator

don't waste your time with PPE, banks, edge, or any other programmer/tuner out there other than SCT with custom tunes. The SCT will be your best bet by far.

Yea I hear that guy was pretty awesome ^^ but all seriousness I ran the PPE on my 04 250 on level 10 for 40K hard miles and never had any problem, and those were with stock bolds, gasket and egr was still there. I couldn't have been happier with it for what I needed, driving around town and a little highway I was 17-18 MPG with a 4x4. It's soo much better than a SCT canned tunes but I never got around to custom tunes with it. Plus it got me to low 14.3xx's at the strip and the transmission loved it

Re: ppe xcelerator

Don't try it if you want a smokey programmer. It won't smoke but a little haze at full throttle or a puff if you let off of it then hammer down

Re: ppe xcelerator

Thanks for opinions there is a local guy that has one for sale didn't know if they were ok or not, but if I buy it, it's going on my 05 ranch which is stock other than exhaust.

My good buddy runs his truck all the time, he runs 14.44's with his custom tuned SCT... but that's on 37" tires too.

Black smoke don't mean it's broke... it means your tuning sucks!
