Question about Injector nozzles on 175's

Ok i already know that Warren diesel is going to do my injectors. But i have read a few threads that the elite diesel injector nozzles are a 8 hole shot vs a 6 hole shot. Now with that being said i have also read that people with th 8 hole nozzles are reporting better fuel mileage with them. Also would these result in more power as well? Also another question is, when jess does my injectors which would be better the 8 hole hybrid or the reg 6 hole shot.

Re: Question about Injector nozzles on 175's

The guys over at MPD also use 8 hole nozzles on certain injectors, not sure but I dont believe 75 and 100 over nozzles are available in 8 hole style. The 8 holes are supposed to give better atomization of the fuel so that probably warrants the better fuel mileage but I honestly have no idea. Hopefully someone chimes in because I'd like to know as well.

well elite uses 8 holes on there big injectors as well. but i think on there 185's they use a 50% honed nozzle

Re: Question about Injector nozzles on 175's

I have seen 50% honed nozzles on my nozzle pop off tester leak so honed nozzles can be risky. From what I have seen 8 hole nozzles make no more hp than a 6 hole.

i dont want risky. the main reason i was thinkin about it was for the fuel mileage. yall will be doing my injectors just wanna try and get good fuel mileage at the same time

8 hole nozzles may get better fuel economy IMO its not going to be a big difference.

Re: Question about Injector nozzles on 175's

jess i know about injectors in general but your the injector man! how much better would you think? and elite told me with those nozzles that you have to plug some relief valve or something like that. is this true and what risk does that impose?

Re: Question about Injector nozzles on 175's

There is a relief port on the injector that lets fuel bypass under light throttle. 155's are usually as simple as plugging that port so that you are getting all the fuel with no bleed off. Any larger and you will have larger barrels and whatnot...

Re: Question about Injector nozzles on 175's

Every elite injector I've seen, we have removed the 8 hole nozzles and put 6 hole either 75,100 or 150% over nozzles on them, hypermax started out using this certain brand and now casserly, industrial, mpd, innovative all use them. I have 205s with 100% nozzles on the tow truck and I average 10-12mpg towing 12 000lbs at an average of 75mph everywhere I go
