Has anyone tried 6.4l piston/rod combo in 6.0?

I know there had been some talk about machining 6.0 .120 and installing 6.4l pistons/rods, but has anyone ever put together and ran one yet?

Re: Has anyone tried 6.4l piston/rod combo in 6.0?

I have never heard of it. I have heard of a 6.9L stroker built from a 6.0 block and I think 6.4L crank and not sure on which motor's rods but did have shorter pistons. The problem I would see with using a 6.4L rotating assembly would be that as of right now there is already no room for any increase in stroke length with out cutting valve reliefs into the pistons. Other than that it might work. I don't know enough to say other wise. I think it would depend on crank similarities between the two engines being so that either the entire rotating assembly be able to be used on the 6.0 block or at least the crank and rods. Just my $.02

Why would the 6.4 rod be needed? I think they both have the same stroke.

The 6.0 and 6.4 have the same stroke 105mm, the 6.4 rod would be utiltized due to the piston pin is much larger on the 6.4l. If I can get my hands on a set of 6.4l pistons and rods for cheap I am going to try this as I have a block that needs machining.

6.4 rods cannot be put on a 6.0 crank. 6.0 rods could be put on a 6.4 crank if you ground the crank.
