What should he do?

My step dad just got a 2007 F350 and I didnt know what the difference was from my 2004. He wants a fuel mileage out of it but it's still under warranty. Alot of highway miles with mild towing. He has a air raid filter on it becuz his stock one was shot but that's it. What do u suggest for tuners? Exhaust? Anythings else? Thanks guys!!!

Re: What should he do?

im running a edge race evo.. nothing special but gives it good enough power gains for now being the programmer it helps me from switching stages all the time and helps keep my foot out of the pedal. and also running a 5 inch exhaust has great sound on my 07 im not running a muffler or cat. im only seeing about 2 miles more per gallon than stock but sounds good doing it. im not sure about custom tuning im sure you could get more mpg out of them though. im getting a consistant 15.9 to 16.3 hand calculated with 37x13.50's.

Re: What should he do?

Put an exhaust on it, 5 inch is not need on a stock truck. Tuning dont bother with it. Exspecially if there's a warranty any good dealership can tell if one has been on it. Simple as that.

My stock 07 is extremely slow off the line. It'll get up and go if I punch it but normal around town driving whatever is next to me at the light always takes off faster. The early 6.0's were at least bearable in stock form due to the different programming. I didn't want to mess with a programmer but once my warranty is up it is going to be hard to resist.

Re: What should he do?

if your looking just for MPG get a good tune from one of the mention tuners and keep your foot out of the right pedal. On a side note, if you thinking of starting to change things up a bit more, make sure you take out a second mortgage on the house, because it will get that expensive.
There is NO difference between a divorce and driving a 6.0, both will cost you the last shirt.
