Project "Farm Truck" motor build

Looking to start a new project truck. I'm aiming for something along the line of ellertons twin turbo tow rig. I planned on starting from scratch, building kind of a hybrid motor using the better parts from different years. Can anybody give me some idea of where to start as far as what years had the best block, heads, hpo system etc...
Any help is appreciated thanks, Matt

05-07 has a bigger water pump and I think the heads are supposed to be better. The oil rails are bigger on 05-07 but they have more o rings so I've seen those leak more often.

Yes an 05 will drop right in place but different years have different pros and cons, like I think 07 heads have a thicker base versus previous years to decrease the chance of warpage. I would try and find a good used block and just rebuild the bottom end myself if I was you, a lot cheaper the a Ford reman, that's just what I planned on doing.

Sounds like a good idea, so i can actually piece together a motor with parts from all the best parts of each year?

Re: Project "Farm Truck" motor build

You can to an extent. 05-07 parts are all gonna be the same, main issues is putting 04.5-07 parts on a 03 block. Here is the list of different things.

2003-early 04 and 04.5 to 07 trucks - Different HPOP, HPOP Cover, Branch Tubes, Oil rails, ICP location, Water Pump, Front Cover, Intake Manifold, and elbow, FICM bracket is different, Crank Case Vent, Glow Plug Relay Mouting bracket, Studs vary on 18 to 20mm on later blocks, Trans they do bolt up but the TCM needs to be flashed correctly, Rocker Boxes. All I can think of right now.

03 Rescue is Dead

08 Rescue - No Limit Fab, MPD, Rescue Diesel, Barder Turbo, Fuel Lab, H&S products.

I was working on my friends 2007 6.0 the other day and noticed it has 330 hp, when did that go up from 270hp?
