Re: ever heard of doing this?!

Someone can chime in, but from what i was told about this, Dodge was the only one with a silencer ring. Maybe they meant that was actual removable and not cut off.

Re: ever heard of doing this?!

ive seen this video before and i was the first to comment on it on youtube but the guy deleted it and said i didnt know what i was talking about. i basically told him in not so nice words that he was a retard and really screwed up his turbo on the intake side by doing this and that there was no point to it other than making the noise inside the cab louder. please dont do this!!!!!!

Re: ever heard of doing this?!

It doesn't do anything for the motor. Waste of time and effort

You see, in this world there's two kinds of people my friend....those with loaded guns, and those who dig.

You dig.

I've seen this done to a turbo that was going to be tossed out anyway, while it does not wreck the turbo it does probably causes a lot more turbulence and is a whole lot more noisy on the intake side. Just a dumb idea no matter which way you look at it.

SCT, no studs...yet, Dual OEM intake air filter housings, Banks intercooler & intake elbow, Banks exhaust syatem, Windrunner ported intake manifold, Bullet Proof Diesel remote oil cooler & thermostat, AirDog2 (plus a couple spares), Power steering filter (Amsoil dual-bypass), MagTec deep ATF pan, Electric oil pre-lub pump, Dakota Digital gauges.

Re: ever heard of doing this?!

I have seen this hack job once before.

I have an extra housing that I machined the ring out of while still maintaining the lip. It did make the turbo louder, other than that not sure what gain there was.
