Should I reflash?

I have an early 03 6.0 and I believe the computer has the pilot injection or "quiet idle" on it, my truck is straight piped and at idle you can listen to the turbo spool up and then stop so you can just hear the V8 rumble. The idle doesnt always stay steady either, will go up and down 50rpms or so. Planning on getting a reflash at the dealership to fords newest 6.0 program. This should help my truck run better right?

Re: Should I reflash?

I've heard the best mpg tunes were the early tunes. That being said I had my 05 reflashed about 2 months ago and I didnt see any real changes but ford said I was needed. Someone will chime in with more experience Im sure.

Re: Should I reflash?

I have a April 03 truck and miss the power, converter lockup and pilot injector. It's been reflashed 3-4 time, (live in California) for smog. I just received my SCT X3 from Innovative and should get the tunes tomorrow hopefully. Ya, I missed the truck I originally purchased I got a tuner to fix the 'issues'.

Just got back from pulling my 5'r camping up and down Northern California coastal hills and I'm soooooooo tired of it not locking up the converter and listening to the convert just whine away and waiting for something to go boom!!! I have 186K on the truck, bought it new with 125 miles.

I'll post how close to original the tunes from Eric get.

Re: Should I reflash?

a 6.0 without tunes isn't worth owning IMHO
I would save the 100 for the flash and get a tuner

also the latest flash will throw u into reduced power if your ECT EOT split is to high

Re: Should I reflash?

Im running an SCT X3 with the tunes it came from SCT with, when im running one of those tunes did it turn off the pilot injection or do i have to get a custom tune for that? The whole pilot injection and all its problems just worries me
