I spent the last 4-5 hours refreshing my memory and updating it with new info on turbos, not the basic stuff the more technical stuff, was calculating trims, figuring a/r all that jazz and started looking at the aftermarket and i have a few questions.
when one refers to lets say a 62/70 turbo, what does each number represent? trim? compressor inducer? turbine exducer?
what about when a number is used alone 62mm or 66mm ie bwd uses a 62mm s300 is that the s362 listed on bullseyes site? or is it different? what about BDs 64 is that the s364 listed on bullseyes?
on a non VGT for those running them, i see some run them gated, some dont, for those that arent how are they controlling boost pressure?
is a diverter valve only needed on turbos 64mm and larger as they are a slightly large enough to create lag and this aids in reducing the lag? but on anything smaller it isnt needed?
