Liberators Solid y-pipe

Anyone ever put one on? My brothers stock one is cracked and he got one. A "friend" that works at FORD installed it for him. He said there was no way he could get it in even with the turbo off. So he pulled the trans and put it in that way. What do you think? Did my brother pay an extra $150 for nothing?

Looking for Blue 40-20-40 seat for OBS. PM me if any known

He got took, you can get it out with just the turbo off you just have to unbolt and remove the short passenger side (shorter pipe) first

But what about putting the new ONE piece one back in? If you have to take the original one out in 2 pieces.

If the friend works for ford, I'm a bit nervous for that service department.
I've done plenty of Y pipe exchanges and all that needs to come out is the turbo, solid piping doesn't change anything. Just need a little elbow grease and you'll have no issue.

If you are saying that the passenger side of the "Y" pipe is about 2 feet long...as in not in 2 pieces...yeah, that would be a PITA.
I think some people are thinking that your "One piece" just has the bellows removed...

unless I am mistaken...

Thats what I thought at first as well. It would be very hard to try to wrangle a 1 piece in there. He probably dropped the trans to be able to slide it in from the bottom. I don't know if its possible to do from the top or not. I never tried a one piece. It would be a nice piece to have though to get rid of the flex joints.

Re: Liberators Solid y-pipe

I didn't say 2 feet LONGER.

What I meant was...if both sides are completely assembled, as in put the passenger side together...and then try to put it in...it aint gonna happen. So if that is what a ONE piece is....I would rather have an easy to install 2 piece, with the lower bellows removed from the passenger side, and have the factory crap bellows changed out to stainless steel braided bellows on each side.

installing a whole y is as easy as installing a half(minus the short pipe)
