Install TSmp8 now ICP code.

Ok guys like it says i installed the ts mp8 and at first everything was good. I checked my insight it showed a code for ICP sensor, but no engine light so i figured it was from when i disconnected it to install the mp8. Then i took it out to test, the engine light came on so i went home. I got out make sure all connectons where good came back to the truck no engine light... So i decided to take it back out, drove it around for a little bit nothing no light but still had the ICP code on the edge insight. I went out a few hours later to go to a friends house sure enough the engine light was on. The trucks runs fine no problems but does sound like its runs a little quieter. So with all that being said what do you guys think ? Anyone ever had a problem like this ? What will this hurt if the engine light stays on ? Thanks for any info.

Re: Install TSmp8 now ICP code.

why did you install the mp8 when you already have an sct? sounds pretty much pointless to map, the custom tunes on the SCT already adjusted all your maps and in turn your icp is set to run with the fuel and air maps that the tuner put into his tune..... so really you are getting nothing

I did it just because i wanted to see if there actually was a difference. But yes i know what you are saying i have herd many people say it in the pass that you will get nothing, but i got a great deal on it so i figured i would try it out. I was just wondering why it would throw a code ?

That code won't go away, sounds like a soft code you have. It might go away if someone with a ford ids or ae erases it. Then see if it comes on again.

Are you talking about the code on the edge ? Or the check engine light ? Thanks

Code n cel are probably the same. Reguardless codes will stay on till they are erased, try that first and see if that solves your problem.

Re: Install TSmp8 now ICP code.

Ok well i didnt want the check engine light to stay on all week because i dont know when i will be able to get to a scanner. So i unplugged it went back to normal and no codes and no check engine light. So idk might be something to do with thew mp8 and the sct both being on there ? Or the connections are not good. O by the what part of VA are you from ?

Stafford, Northern part. Codes are probably still there in memory, if it starts to act up pay attention.
