Re: custom tune

If your head gaskets are still good I would go ahead and put some ARP's in there. You can do them one at a time and not loose the seal on your headgaskets. For tunes I would go with Eric at Innovative.

Re: custom tune

No not quite true. Now if you get a really hot tune and are keeping it there all the time and nailing it every chance you get you might but that could happen without a tuner and the same style of driving. If it was mine I would go ahead and do it though especially if your planning on doing it yourself its not much at all. Most of the price of putting headstuds in is when you've already blown your gaskets and you have to spend about 800 bucks on new ones if you get them from ford plus the 500 bucks for studs and the raping you'll take from a dealer or most mechanics for labor.

The part highlighted in bold is the absolute worst advice ever. Do not ever do a half azz job like that with a 6.0 unless you wanna do it all over again

Re: custom tune

Dave might have not had a good experience doing this. But I did it to mine it was one of the first thinks I did. Made 744/1189 daily drove it drag raced ran mid 7's at 96 mph with it and never had one single issue. Maybe I just got lucky though. You probably could do a half A$$ job of installing them one by one maybe that was the problem.

Why didn't you have the dealer do the ARP's?
