Re: getting heads ported

If it's worth it or not kind of depends what you're doing? I mean there are trucks at or over 1000hp with unported heads so....!? We need to know what you're doing with the truck and your budget needs to be near non-existent.

Black smoke don't mean it's broke... it means your tuning sucks!

Re: getting heads ported

You got to think it terms of the whole engine with porting. If you port any one part the results are minimal. If you port ALL the pieces then you may see some gains.

You see, in this world there's two kinds of people my friend....those with loaded guns, and those who dig.

You dig.

Re: getting heads ported

Porting heads on any forced induction engine dosen't do much. I would spend my money somewhere else unless your planning on doing everthing possible to the motor and want every single didget of HP you can get.

10's ???

No, it would be a waste of money for me, I'm only running a programmer... gains would be minimal at best, and not noticeable. I'm basing my info from those who have been down this road. I would replace the intake manifold far before I spent the money having the heads ported.

Re: getting heads ported

And im very sure that cleaning out the intake manifold that have egr build up on the higher mileage trucks would help also.
