AFE stage 2 VS. Stock intake ?

A friend of mine has a AFE stage 2 intake that came off his old truck. I know that the stock intake is suppose to be good for like 500hp. If I can get the AFE for free would it be worth putting on my truck. Thanks

If it's free I don't see why not.
If he wants more than a $100 for it, your better off buying a coolant filter or something.

There are a ton better places to put 100 or less just keep it handy so maybe one day you can trade with it or possibly touch 500 to the rear and slap the ole girl on.

I'd pay $100 for it in a heartbeat. The stock is the best for filtering yes, but come on.... you can't tell me none of you guys wouldn't put that on either. Didn't Doug already make that a point that the 500 rwhp thing was another forum wives tail?

I don't think it is needed with the stock turbo. So if it were me I'd keep the stock air cleaner and if your buddy is giving it away either stash it or get it and sell it.

PS I wouldn't take it from a Friend and sell it
I gave a Friend a stereo for his truck because his was lame
He sold it for cash ,, that was crap but showed me his true colors
