wireing HPOP gauge

I'm gonna be having a HPOP gauge made from Dakota Digital and just ordered a HPOP pigtail harness to the ease of wiring this gauge instead of cutting and tapping into the harness itself. Is there only one wire to hook up or two? Here's the Strictly Diesel pigtail harness i ordered and it says that there are two wires(blue and grey), just wondering.

Thats the same pigtail I used, all you need to do is find the positive wire from your gauge mine was blue but they were auto meter, and hook it up to the purple wire from the pig tail, then hook up power and you should be good.

Dakota would have to answer that for 100% certainty. Depending on the internal gauge circuitry, it could just be looking for the 0-5V ICP output(1-wire) to base it's display readings on.

Re: wireing HPOP gauge

already talked to them about it. They've already made some HPOP gauges for someone and still have the info. All they needed to know is 0psi at 0 volts and 4000psi at 5 volts. All i gotta do is hook the sender wire up from the gauge to the volt wire on the harness and it's good to go.

I don't get the point of an HPOP gauge. I mean, if the HPOP dies, the truck wont run... seems like the gauge is just there to laugh at you.

a HPOP is good to see how much PSI the pump is putting out. Usually is gets weak before it dies. So by monitoring your HPOP you can tell if your HPOP is in good shape or if it is weak by lower than normal PSI, or possibly a leak in the system.

I haven't gotten the gauge yet. It is $150. The gauge will be programmed to have a pre-set low limit at 400psi and pre-set high limit set at 4000psi they told me. The display is going to be a x10 factor...so if the display reads 50, the actual psi is 500, and a reading of 350 will be 3500. I already have the pyro and boost gauge in the new quad pod. So hopefully by next week i'll have time to get them in once i get the trans, fuel, and HPOP. Here's what the dakota digitals look like if you haven't seen them.

Individual Instruments

I have the ones that have the teal display with chrome bezels. I'll get some pics as soon as i can.
