Flowmaster?

I've been thinking about getting a muffler for my truck, it is currently straight piped. I am thinking about getting a flowmaster 4 inch 2 chamber race muffler. I know it's not a diesel specific muffler but whats it gonna hurt. Just wondering what some of y'all think about this. I think it would sound badass!

Re: Flowmaster?

chambered mufflers have been known to affect the spooling of turbos. though that was old gasser stuff i had heard and havent heard anything about it for a diesel at all.

Re: Flowmaster?

Yeah I had heard that for gas engines not sure on diesels. But the old flow master exhaust kits for diesels had chambered mufflers before the hush power stuff. It is race muffler so figured it can't be but so bad.

Re: Flowmaster?

A friend of mine has mbrp it sounds good but not as loud as I would like. The race flow master isn't gonna quiet it down hardly at all a just think it would be cool to have that flow master jingle

Re: Flowmaster?

The first setup I had on my truck was a flowmaster with the cat still in place and it wasnt much louder than stock.

Re: Flowmaster?

The race flowmasters are way louder than regular flowmasters. On my brothers race car they barely quieted it down they just gave it that cool sound it actually ran quicker with em versus open pipe I'm guessing due to the added back pressure. It's just a idea I had and they are a little cheaper than most diesel mufflers if I get one I will post a video.
