SRL ++ Dyno and gearhead tune reviews :)

Hey guys I dynoed my Truck at St. Joe Diesel. They are a really good diesel shop in the midwest and do a lot of big builds

My truck put down 423HP and 753TQ on a Dynocom dyno. This was running my SRL ++ studded tune. When you look at the dyno it shows 436hp, but that was when it shifted so if you look at the the second it picture it shows I made 423 at 3400rpms. When we dynoed we put it in tow/haul and hit at about 50mph when the converter was locked in 4th and it would hit 26/26lbs boost.

All I can say is this SRL++ halls and it shifts really nice. It runs a little more boost all the time compared to the SRL tune. Running this tune gives me a little over 15mpg mixed. I can hit 29lbs if I roll into it at 70mph.

The SRL tune is about the same but just cruising it will run 8 or 9lbs of boost where the ++ runs about 10 or 11lbs running around 70mph. I usually get around 16-17 mixed with this tune. I can hit 26lbs if I roll into it at 70mph.

The 8k lbs tow tune works great. I have towed about 7klbs with it and never went over 1000deg. I did up the shift pressure by 10% for firmer shifts. I get the best mpg with this tune...about a solid 17mpg and sometimes 18 with mostly highway.

All in all I am very happy with my gearhead tunes and Matt was real good to work with.

cool good review. did you drop fuel pressure? this means the slr++ has identical power to the Xtreme race.

his tune is nice but it just down shifts to quick before hitting any boost above 18-20 psi

BTW, the SRL+ may have netted you more power, have you ever tried running that tune? The SRL++ is only for trucks that won't hit 30 PSI on the regular SRL+. If it hits 30 PSI on the regular SRL+ tune, your SRL++ will actually be slower/less powerful.

That sounds about right. I can't run ++. Hits over 40psi. Whoops. Hangs at around 32 with the +.

Yep, the SRL++ will boost some crazy numbers on some trucks. With boost that high the turbo isn't as efficient.

That's with a powermax. Got updated tunes after the turbo swap. Could hear that poor turbo skareemin. Nope, backed it on down. No sense making hot air and killing a turbo.

Even with a stock turbo, the SRL++ will hit outrageous umbers close to 40.

Is 40psinto much for the power max? I thought I seen people running 50psi with 190's?
