Need to change HPOP 03 6.0

hi. i am new to the forums. i found out at the ford dealership that my HPOP is out. they said that its going to cost me 680 for the pump and 800 for labor. dam thats alot. i wanted to see if i could do it my self. first question. should i buy a OEM brand new oil pump? or a used one from ebay or parts store? or an aftermarket one? 2. dose any one have any manuel or pic of how to remove and install the HPOP. please help me out. parts and labor are very costly on this truck. thanks

If you are a decent garage mechanic you can do it yourself. I bought a rebuilt HPOP and it has been working good for 3 years now but you always take a risk when you dont buy new. I like to work on my own stuff so it was easy for me. Good luck!

4.5hrs time to do the job and you can get a pump for 500$.

It ant that bad i do it all the time at work, it isnt hard just time staking, but take it from me your most important tools are baggys and a sharpy label everything you can it makes it so much easier going back toughther
