I prefer the solid axle, especially the Dana 60, but I have nothing against the IFS
from a performance standpoint. Ride is secondary to me at best - I want rugged, durable, reliable dependable, which to me means less pivot points to wear, go out of alignment or fail.
To me it's simply a matter of personal preference - I just like the idea of fixed steering geometry and fixed relationship between the steer tires all the way through the travel, etc. Fixed camber and caster just makes for one fewer thing to go out of whack and cause uneven tire wear and steering pull.
