My EOT gets up to 220{or more}, ECT stays around 190... this is normal down the highway at 75mph, NO PULLING. i was thinking probably need to replace Oil Cooler? didnt i read her sumwhere these should stay within 10-15 degrees of each other??? THANK YOU FOR ANY AND ALL INPUT... YOU GUYS ARE SO AWESOME... I ENVY YALLS KNOWLEDGE...
You could try a coolant system flush. If that doesn't work you may need a new oil cooler. You need to ensure they do an oil cooler flush.. not just the radiator.
I'd recommend taking the truck to a good Diesel shop. They'll do the flush and recommend a next step.
welcome! might help to know a bit more about your truck. are you a cclb 4x4 lifted with big tires? i could see that running a bit hotter going down the road at 75mph, probably not that much hotter though, i think 30 degrees difference is too much personally.
If you're like me with a stock 2wd 3.73 highway queen (lol) it's rare to see it go over 12 difference at 70mph.
& x2 flush coolant system in it's entirety before putting a new cooler in, as it may get clogged right after installation. it's happened before plenty
oh, and you might consider a coolant filter I think i'd flush system, then install a simple bypass filter & run it for a while to see what it catches, and then based on what you learn there get a new cooler put in.
