When its close to 5000 for and oil change why does the truck stumble sometime is has died a couple of times when i turn it on to warm up. Its runs fine after i change the oil until till its close to the next oil change what can i do to stop this? Or just change oil sooner? I just use it as a daily driver no towing. 2004 f-250 135000 miles

Re: Oil change

What oil are you using?
What ambient temperature is it?
How is the oil level after 5000 (high or low)?
Are you using a motorcraft filter?
Can you verify that your oil filter cap is OEM?

Also, you may have an injector acting up (ie "stiction", which is oil related) based on a P0284 code that you posted about late last year.

Re: Oil change

The temperature is the right range for 15W40, but sometimes stiction issues will be more prevalent with 15W40 versus 5W40. IMO it would be worth trying a 5W40 if you were close to needing an oil change. I agree with Jamie about changing it a little early w/ the 15W40 in it.

Re: Oil change

You have a problem, and it's not the oil. It's probably time for a set of injectors.
