Re: Low oil pressure problems

You must be talking about the low pressure oil system?

Re: Low oil pressure problems

Your lpop might be going bad, its down on the front cover, behind the damper. Its a pain in the rear to get to but if you have the tools you can probably do it.

Re: Low oil pressure problems

We did change the lpop and relief valve. at an idle the pressure will jump from 0 to 10 or so even with the live gage installed. someone told me there is a gasket that could have blown out between the 2 halfs of the block. i did not know there was 2 halfs or isn't their?

Re: Low oil pressure problems

Are you running an aftermarket oil filter? Also as mentioned above, what did the front cover behind the oil pump look like?

Re: Low oil pressure problems

If you have a large enough leak on the high side. It will drain the low side. Do you have a way to monitor IPR duty cycle to see if it is trying to keep up?

Re: Low oil pressure problems

could have an oil gallery plug that fell out also. two of them are behind the front cover and another two behind the flywheel and rear cover. I have seen them fall out before and they cause a low oil pressure problem
