6.0s with miles

Hey guys I know there is probably another thread bout how many miles you got on your 6.0s but I thought Id post up the most ive seen i see alot of trucks. They were 265K, 280K, and 380,000. I know they get some bad publicity but they can be good to. The truck w/ 380K I dont know the history on the truck but it was a clean truck and motor sounded good. Just thought Id share

still cant beat the 03 7.3 with a million! the 6leakers are ok if you can get them to run and run for longer than 10 mins.

Maybe I need to wedge something in the injector connectors to get my 6L to run longer than 10 minutes. Do you have that 7.3L part number handy?

High pressure system diag is easier on a 7.3L though. I will give you that. Hmm is it that hose thats leaking? Or is it that one?

Re: 6.0s with miles

Ive seen a few with over 300k. as long as you solve the head gasket issues, kill the egr, and tolerate some injector failures they do seem to run very strong at high mileage. Have one apart right now with 160k on it and the hone marks in the cylinders look like they were put there yesterday.

Re: 6.0s with miles

What all is involved with killing the EGR. My 6.0 is blowing coolant real bad now. It went from losing a little to blowing out. If I was going to make an EGR mod, would now be the time?

Deleting it could help, if the cooler is cracked and boost pressure is entering the cooling system, causing it to vent. However, if it is venting real bad, like even when cruising, I would put my money on headgaskets...
