White smoke after new turbos??

Me and my grandpa had new turbos put on our trucks and i went to picl his up yesterday and everything was perfect, good power and everything but on takeoff it blows white smoke or if im all the way off the throttle going down the road and a kick it a little. Picked mine up this morning and its doing the same thing. So i know its not injectors or anything. My mechanic said oil from replacing the turbos. Im just afraid to drive it. Anybody been through this??

Re: White smoke after new turbos??

New turbos do come with a oily film on them. but should be gone in a short time, 20-30 minutes of running should burn it off if not less. If it is smoking after that burn off time there is another reason for the smoke, IMO.

Re: White smoke after new turbos??

Well i drove it this morning and its definitely better but not completely cleared up. It will not smoke as soon as a crank it up and take off but about a minute or two after i have drove it it will puff a little white smoke out at take off (not hard) and then at every other take off its very little but i can see it. Only reason im worried is because i spent a lot of money and ive got about 150 miles on the new turbo now....

Re: White smoke after new turbos??

If the turbo was leaking oil in the exhaust it would be a lot more smoke than you're describing.
