6.0 starting issues

ok i know there has been alot of write ups on this. i seem to have a unique situation. ok i have a 2003 excursion with a 6.0 last weekend it was idling in my driveway and just died like it ran out of fuel. i replaced the fuel pump, filters, the IPR and the IPC , i ran a diagnostic on it.. here is my values. also checked ficm relay and turbo for stuck impeller.

IPR key on 15%
IPR start 80%

hpop start psi 585psi

ficm voltage
M power key on 49%
M power start 48%
V power key on 11.9 v
V power start 10.5v
L power key on 11.9v
L power start 10.5v

so everything is withing parameters of where it should be but yet it wont start was running great up to this point , no issues

what am i missing ???

Re: 6.0 starting issues

What are you using to view the data? Scangauge II? If yes, you might FICM sync. Maybe it's not? Just an idea.

Re: 6.0 starting issues

I would start simple. Check your grounds, electrical connections, battery connections. Even just being loose, those could cause some starting issues that youll chase for ages.
The old adage "Keep it simple, stupid" is still a grand thought to follow. Especially BEFORE you start dumping more money into it.

Also, you might want to check and clean the ground connection on the block. They are known to be loose and cause problems

^+1
I bought a ranger (I know, not a diesel) and one day driving to work, I made a right turn and it just shut off on me. Everything still worked, electronically, but the motor would not start. Turned out to be a body to block ground that I MacGuyver'd together (using a pocket knife, no less) and she fired right up and carried me to work.
It usually is the little things.

Re: 6.0 starting issues

All grounds are good, all connectors have been pulled off and put back on. Using torque pro app. And the motor cranks. Just wont fire off. Like it has no fuel. But fuel bowl fills. Something is keeping the injectors from firing. Checked ficm relay. It's good.

Re: 6.0 starting issues

being you have an 03, I'm thing your pump as failed. Well kinda! I thing your swash plate has moved out of timing. I hope this youtube vid helps you understand. Pat talks in the vid how if swash plate isn't in time the engine will not run.
