please help, truck died while driving, won't crank.

I was driving to work this morning and my truck died, it just cut out clean. No sputtering, nothing, just boom, dead. Then in my message center TBC FAULT came up. I can't get it to a crank over or anything. I have been checking fuses, found nothing wrong, checked relays, checked for power at the starter. It is a 2005 Ford F250 with the 6.0L and I am lost. Any help would be appreciated.

Get a scanner on it and see what codes it's throwing.

I have found that it throws TBC fault on dash when batteries are very low. Check batteries first. Alternator may have failed.

Scanner won't link, I found a wire on the pass side fender that if you put power to it allows the truck to crank. It cranks very strong.

Check your cigarette lighter fuse.
You'll get the TBC fault if you keep on cranking for an extended period of time. Not sure why, but I get it every time I open my hpo system up and re prime it.

Re: please help, truck died while driving, won't crank.

I'm going through the same thing myself right now. However I can give you some insight, check your harness feeding your fan clutch. Make sure it is not cut and also try unplugging it and try to crank. If you don't have luck with that as I didn't then unplug the center plug on your PCM next to your drivers side battery. If it cranks then it's either a chaffed wire on your engine harness or a shorted voltage reference sensor. Does your fuel pump turn on when cycling your key to run?
