Exclamation Coolant pressure sky rockets but truck drives fine?! HELP!!

Hello everyone, so i recently picked up a 2006 F250 with 60,000 miles. and it runs great BUT today i installed a coolant pressure gauge just to monitor everything (already bought the Edge CTS to monitor everything else) so after installing this gauge i took her out for a spin and as i lay into the throttle i watch in horror as this gauge runs past 10, 15, hits 20psi at around 3/4 throttle! so i immediately turn around and park it. the truck was running normal operating temp of 200F if that makes a difference. can't hear any unusual noises, deltas are 3-6 degrees difference and the EGR has been deleted. so my question is, is this indefinitely a blown head gasket? If not what else should i be looking at/for? ANY help would be much appreciated as i have just bought this truck and don't want to have to drop another 3-5 grand on it.

Id say quick is an understatement. it takes it maybe 2 seconds to hit around 20psi and thats just easing it up to around 3/4 throttle.

Stick a fork in it. That's how mine are. I am pulling the cab on mine on Monday. Strange with lowish miles. I have 3 times your mileage. They must have had a cheap tuner on it.

Is it puking yet?

are you got white smoke coing out the tail pipe. or a lot of pressyure on the degas bottle.

2008 got a new flex pipe installed. S-b intake, 4in dp back exhaust, gear head tunes All deletes done now.

haven't noticed any white smoke at all. as far as degas bottle pressure, i saw it rise to 20psi at 3/4 throttle. now (less than 4 hours later) its already back to zero. i don't know what else could cause such high coolant pressure besides HG's.. open to any suggestions though!

As long as your gauge is accurate, there isnt anything else, especially with an egr delete.

Umm... cracked heads will do the same thing. You shouldn't be hitting 20 psi if your cap is working correctly. Is there any soot in your degas bottle??!?! Can you smell exhaust in it??!
