bad fuel mileage

I am wondering why I get such bad fuel mileage. Is there something that I can do to help it. My first 04 f250 got around 15 in town. but my 04 f350 gets 12 in town. trucks have the same mods. both trucks have 3.73 gears. one was a lariat and the 350 is a Harley truck. let me know what you think.

Re: bad fuel mileage

Is it tuned?? both stock height? So many variables go into fuel efficiency.

Re: bad fuel mileage

both have the same mods.. same intakes? same exhausts? many many things affect fuel efficiency , tire pressures type of tire etc.

Re: bad fuel mileage

250 had afe intake and 4 inch mbrp exhaust muffler, tunes by gearhead. 285 75 16 tires. 350 has s&b and 4 inch mbrp exhaust straight piped. tunes by gearhead, and wicked wheel 2. same size tires. so almost same mods. why such a big difference. I run both with the unlimited tow tune.

Re: bad fuel mileage

some trucks just use more fuel then others, my old 6.4 got 1 mpg better all the time. only diff is this one has factory 20 only diffence.

it could be the tires. I bet if you took 10 trucks same package and tires etc. they would all be diffenct

Re: bad fuel mileage

both are 3.73, one had 16 inch wheels and one has 18 inch wheels. I just cant see the wheels making three miles per gallon difference. I am seriously thinking about going to a ficm tune instead.

Re: bad fuel mileage

6.0s get better mileage with a muffler. I think that's why your seeing the mileage difference between the two trucks.
