Re: Flush

Rotella ELC, Cat ELC, etc. etc. There are actually quite a few acceptable ELCs out there, but not many places carry them. I can't remember off the top of my head, but Napa has an acceptable ELC. I have Peak Final Charge in mine. Heck, Navistar/International coolant. What you want to look for is a silicate free ELC. Incidentally, the Ford Gold OEM coolant is not silicate free. Not good.
There is nothing special about name-brand Cat coolant, it just is a silicate free ELC. Get it if you want, all acceptable coolants are ~$25 per gallon for the concentrate stuff (which you must use; no 50/50). Final Charge can be bought from Oreilly, but it's probably a special order item.

Re: Flush

The Final Charge in mine as well. Was the easiest one for me to get. Had to be ordered, but it's always there within 24hrs. Just make sure you see "EC1 rated" on the jug somewhere.

Black bottle or yellow bottle? I hope the black bottle, because the yellow bottle Prestone "Extended Life Coolant" is not acceptable for diesel engines (and certainly not for 6.0 PowerStrokes).

The reason I mention it is because I don't believe Walmart sells the Prestone Command coolant (diesel coolant, Cat EC-1 approved, silicate free, etc.). I've never seen it in the store, I just looked and couldn't find it in the online store.

Just to be clear, this Prestone coolant (even though it's sold as an "ELC") is not acceptable: Prestone Extended Life Antifreeze/Coolant – Walmart

This Prestone Command coolant is perfectly fine: Prestone Command® Heavy Duty Extended Life Antifreeze / Coolant
