Slight ticking then truck died. White smoke

Hey guys, got another problem with my 2006 6.0

I noticed a couple days ago that the truck started making a faint ticking noise. It would go quiet for a little while then start ticking then go quiet again. When it was ticking it did seem to be rpm dependent.

So last night I am cruising on the way over to my buddies house, not on it at all. The truck feels like it is running weak then when I let off the gas the rpms fall and keep falling till it dies. I roll to a stop and park it. Try to restart it but it won't even try to turn over more than once. My dad gets there and tells me to try to crank it while he listens, it takes a few seconds but it does start. Theres a loud piston slap like sound for half a second, like 3-4 taps, then it gets quieter but still there. It seems to run ok but its dumping tons of white smoke out of the exhaust. I had it towed to my warehouse, the tow truck driver didn't want to try to back it in so he just had me start it, he let it down and I let it idle and roll into the spot.

Any ideas? We just changed the injectors like 4000 miles ago with Full Force rebuilts.

Sounds like a cracked injector cup to me.

6.0 injector cups don't crack, AND that's not really a symptom of a cracked cup. He would likely be pushing g fuel into the degas bottle (which on a 6.0 indicates a cracked head). I'd check the turbo first thing, but it sounds like an injector issue. Is the EGR cooler deleted?
