Loss of power when accelerating 6.0

2003 F250 6.0 / when accelerating on hills, noticeable loss of power. Goes into overdrive. Never used to do this. Has a high sounding whine when it does this. It'll drop from70 mph to 50 mph in about 45 seconds or so. Not pulling any trailer. Also noticed that every now and then, it will crank with no start. Then I stomp the accelerator a few times and it starts. No smoke. No codes thrown. Oil change done about 1k ago. Also fuel and air filters. All stock.

Re: Loss of power when accelerating 6.0

Are you sure no codes are present, or is the CEL just not lit? If I were you, I'd start monitoring ICP.

Yup, as stated above start by checking your ICP pressure at idle and at wot. Also check you ipr % at the same time and report back.

Also clean out EPB sensor/tube and MAP sensor hose & port.

The mods are dumb for posting in my Sig line. Next time the mods are gonna ban me and be down to a whopping 10 members. I love PSN!!

Definitely! The IRP percent is arguably more important.

Yep, good idea. I've never personally has this problem in my truck, but I've heard many stories of it.

The ICP needs to be more than 500 psi to start. As Ford Fan recommended, look at the IPR percent. Basically, it shouldn't be constantly around 85%. If I understand it correctly, the IPR duty cycle will never be over that. If it's at 85% at WOT, chances the EEC is wanting more ICP than the system can provide.
