Catalytic converter

Hey guys I want to remove my cat. And just want to know the negative effects and it positive effects. I have a 2005 f250 6.0, I am not trying to remove so my truck is loud I just want my truck to run better and last longer.
My mods:
Egr delete
Headstuds
New oil cooler with filter
Muffler delete
No tuner ever.
Has 176xxx miles.

I just want to know if it will cause any problems if I remove it.

Re: Catalytic converter

Only problem you'll get is a much louder truck. About it.

Re: Catalytic converter

No back pressure issues? Or lack of power? Anything like that

A diesel doesn't need back pressure in the exhaust like a gas burner.

Re: Catalytic converter

youll be happy once you get rid of the cat, it wont be ignorantly louder than it is now without a muffler, just a bit.

Re: Catalytic converter

This is the delete pipe I bought to remove my CAT. I have inspections in the area of Washington I live in. I put the CAT back in for the day I take it to be tested.

Don't get rid of your CAT, you may need it down the road if you happen to move to an area that requires testing, or you sell the truck.

Some folks have poked out the interior of the CAT and left it in.

This delete pipe fits the stock exhaust system.

Re: Catalytic converter

I don't get it, in your mods you have a muffler delete but you kept the CAT. Get a better muffler and delete the CAT, this way the truck is not as loud and you get better performance.
