high pressure fuel pump contamination

dealership said my hpfp was out, still under warrenty if no rust was found. they found rust claimed denied. Ford justification water contaminated diesel .
Made insurance claim, they took current fuel sample it was clean, allstate denied claim.

I follow all ford recommended maintenance. Never put gas in tank. $11,000 to repair. Its been at the shop for a month

Ford said current fuel sample does not have to be contaminated for there not have been prior contaminated fuel.

Allstate says fuel is good..What do i do, please help

Re: high pressure fuel pump contamination

If all state said no fuel from sample, but ford did, i would get a laywer. Did they pull sample from same tank?

Might be better in 6.4 forum ( I assume?) Unless is a 6.7

Welp, I guess us 2.0 CR TDI guys aren't the only ones getting stuck with four and five figure HPFP repair bills! Thankfully not me, but it's scary stuff. No real rhyme or reason to our problems.

Re: high pressure fuel pump contamination

for the heck of it look inside of your filler neck and see if its rusty. Some trucks i have seen rust inside the filler neck but not outside. Every time you fill up it would go into the tank if that is the case.

Re: high pressure fuel pump contamination

Maybe investigate who does fuel analysis and get your own data. The major labs to look into to see if they do fuel testing are BlackStone, Polaris, Herguth and Intertek

Getting a lawyer sounds like a good idea.

Edit - these guys analyze fuel samples:

Fluids | POLARIS Laboratories®

I would contact them and see if they do metals analysis (ICP) on diesel fuel (it does not show up on their list of analyses).

Complete Test List | POLARIS Laboratories®

Also, these guys do fuel testing:

Automotive Engine, Fuel and Lubricants Testing Services

One more that does fuel:

Lube Oil Analysis
