2005 6.0 30psi and goes down to 25 on w.o.t

Hi everyone i havte a 2005 f250 6.0
i noticed i been having issues with the truck when i hit the track and started going from a 14.3 to a 14.8 and lower mph.

before i had the studs gasket, egr delete ,new hpop, new injectors ect the truck would hit 30psi under a gearhead tune

now the truck hits 30psi if i am 3/4 throttle on the highway but as soon as i hit the throttle all the way down the boost drops to 20-25 and stays there.

at first i though i thought i had a boost leak but the pipes seem fine and the boost is holding firm at 20-25psi

please help i have asked all around and no one has an answer for me ,

is this a common issue if the turbo needs cleaning or replacing?

thanks

sounds like its just the VGT going to full open at WOT. Sounds normal to me. If you think you still have low boost, triple check up pipe bellows for leaks, as well as charge pipes. Check map sensor port in intake and the line that goes to the sensor as well.

Yes, you dont want the turbo to restrict airflow at WOT, so it opens them to allow maximum air flow. At part throttle they are closed (variably controlled by VGT solenoid) to allow higher boost at part throttle. That is the nice thing about VGT.

Hmmmm..... or you have an up pipe leaking..... I would check it out if boost starts gradually fading off...
