Re: cooler question

05+rucks need the new style stc fitting the old style will fail if you have the intake off its not much more to replace it. Use only ford oil cooler. the aftermarkets are junk

Fixing ford diesels since before they had turbochargers

Re: cooler question

I like my bullet proof external cooler, my first ford cooler failed and it was suggested to go with the revised ford cooler so I did, it failed as well. Both with coolant filter kits being used, fresh coolant flush all that good stuff. I did everything right and they still failed twice so I was done with it. Now I run the external with filter and haven't had a single issue yet. It is possible I got two bad apples, there are a lot of people that have great success with the ford coolers. My opinion I'm done with them.

Re: cooler question

I do have a cooler just not anything like what a OEM cooler is. Bullet Proof Diesel Heavy Duty Engine Oil Cooler

This is what I have. Except I also have the winter package installed. Sure it's kind of expensive, but I've got that much in failed OEM coolers/labor and this cooler is the last one I'll ever have to buy.
