Re: Arp head stud install price??

I paid $3,259.33 for studs, delete, oil cooler, coolant filter here in wyoming. Don't know if that helps. We are kind of an exception here in truck country. I've heard anything from 3-5 grand thrown around on here. Most tend to agree that 5 grand is usually a rip off, but there are few places in the U.S where everything is expensive. Nome Alaska is going to cost far more then wyoming and what not. You get the idea

2007 CC, Lariat, 6.0L, TreadWright guard dogs, straight piped out the back, egr delete, blue spring, 6.4 banjo bolts, high idle mod(bcp), bulletproofed, SCT Livewire TS with Drews street runner(under development for high elevation), Innovative, and Vivian's tunes, ww2.

You could do all that work yourself for around 1000 bucks, these trucks are relativity easy to work on. Plus there are a ton of YouTube videos to help with just about anything. But obviously that's if you were willing to go that route.

a 1000$ is a little low...... studs are roughly 500 gaskets 600 (heads rockerbox exhaust intake) oil cooler 350 oil/coolant around 100 filters around 60 and theres always other misc. stuff

I've heard of people doing head studs with out taking the cab off and feel I could tackle that task but I want it done right.

Have you ever done the studs with the cab on?

I only do in cab. Only time I pull the cab is for motor swaps.

Farmer is right I didn't take into account all the gaskets because I swapped my ARPs out one by one, but yea you can do them cab on, no problem.

I do not recommend this on a 6.0... The heads even from factory are not quite flat. And with the crappy design+egr fails and stretching head bolts they are ALWAYS going to be warped.. You should take your heads off and get them decked. Replace them with ONLY OEM gaskets and make sure you clean the block surface and holes good.. Especially the stud holes, make sure they are extremely clean and that you bottom out the studs.

Re: Arp head stud install price??

To each their own I guess....I did this close to 3 years ago and haven't had an issue at all. Obviously if you want to do it "right" per say, getting the heads checked would be a safer bet. I was well aware that if it didn't work I would have to replace the gaskets but I wasn't experiencing any problems so I did it for my own peice of mind.
