Blown pcm fuse. What gives?

Truck shut off while driving. No symptoms just shut off and would not crank. Ended up being a blown pcm fuse. Popped in a new one and all is well. What triggered the fuse to blow? Also, getting a check engine light after start up. Runs great. If I clear the light while driving it doesn't come on. SCT won't pull the code.

Re: Blown pcm fuse. What gives?

my truck just did the exact same thing last week when I was towing my boat to lake. Was frustrating as hell. There was a wire that was loose and harness that needed to be replaced and wires cleaned up and relocated so it doesn't happen again with my truck. It blew the fuse, no issues after replacing the harness, relocating and cleaning up wires.

the PCM fuse its already fixed and its up and running again. it was a wire that was exposed right by the harness.

What harness did you have to replace?

Re: Blown pcm fuse. What gives?

I found a break in the red wire, down about 18 inches or so where it meets the other harness's in the bundle. Soldered it back together and going for a drive now.
