6.0 Turbo questions

I was reading a thread about someone who wanted to make their 6.0 turbo louder and already had a straight pipe exhaust and someone suggested to remove the silencer ring? Does anyone know anything about that? Would that be ok for the turbo or is it bad for it?

Also what do you think, the batmowheel or powermax turbo?

The silencer ring I am familiar with is a part on the airwerks s400 with the race cover.
I am not sure a factory turbo would have a silencer ring to remove.

In my experience a metal tube intake and conical filter do a great job at exagerating a turbo whistle.

the typical whistle the early 6.0 is known for is actually from the exhaust. It is a property of the 10 vane turbine wheel.
The newer chargers have a 13 vane version that does not whistle.

Ok well thank you, I know nothing about turbos and that was what I read on an old thread. I want to upgrade my turbo I'm just not sure what route to take.

An 03 turbo with a 4" open exhaust will give a lot of whistle.
