Higher than normal temps and Hesitation off idle

Ok so been combing the usual places and have only found a handful of threads and most don't have a resolution. So here it goes...

Truck has a hesitation off idle on throttle tip in like it bogs then will pick back up after it passes 2200rpm. Will also bog or heisitate running down the road around 1600-2000rpm then pick back up.

Another symtom is that around town the trans temp get to 175 and EOT/ect are higher/ come up faster than normal.

Here is the data I have pulled from my Edge CTS: ICP V behaves normal up until it hesitates then drops then picks back up. VGT duty cycle behaves normal until it hesitates then drops (lower numerically) as it hesitates but boost seams to come up quicker and more erratic. Fuel pressure stay constant at 65-67

The only code it pulls is for a glow plug #6 circuit, it does it on all of my tunes and after the truck has returned to stock.

Putting the truck in tow haul makes the truck more drivable but doesn't fix the issue. I also don't have EGT Data as my thermocouple is bad.

I'm updating my CTS tonight to pull MAP and EBP tomorrow going to check fuel filters as well. Also pulled the ICP sensor plug and when disconnected truck still has symtoms so it doesn't seam like an IPR/ ICP issue. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Higher than normal temps and Hesitation off idle

What might help is if you give us the #s off your ICPV and other pids that you are reading. Also what is your FICM volts? If you are running high temps look at the deltas between eot and ect, if more than I believe 12-15 difference you need to change your oil cooler and thermostat.

What kind of boost numbers are you seeing? Off the line does it come up smooth?

And like jfarmer said... give us the actual data you are getting. Will help.

Re: Higher than normal temps and Hesitation off idle

ICP cruising 1.9-2.4 when it hesitates it dips to 1.5 for a split second. At idle .9 v koeo .2v
MAP koeo 14psi
Fuel pressure 65-67psi
FICM 53v (bulletproof half shell)
Boost comes up fairly smooth if I roll real smooth into the throttle
If give it throttle less linear it hesitates and boost becomes more erratic, quickly rising. Duty cycle of the Vgt dips from 45ish to 35ish for the instant it hesitates.

ECT 186-192 EOT 198-204 it only has 15k on the oil cooler that's in it and I switched to CAT ELC-1 last time around with 40 or so plus gallons of flush/fresh water. And it has a coolant filter, but I have a new thermostat that is getting installed as soon as I get some time.

Trans 154-176

All temps are in stop and go driving and ambient are temp around 78-85 deg. No visible smoke of any color coming from exhaust at any time.

I unplugged the ICP sensor last night and truck still had symtoms.

I'm gonna try to pull the EBP sensor and tube tomorrow and see what that looks like.

I ordered a new EGT probe today and had it overnighted to add that info to the mix.

If there is anything else I should look at lemme know. Thanks again

Re: Higher than normal temps and Hesitation off idle

I'm going to lean toward low injector contribution. Are you getting rough idle?

Pmax & batmowheel
Banks technicooler
Arp's
Warren 175/75's
Fass titanium 125 w/ sump
Volant intake
5" mrbp turbo back 6" tip
Reg. return w/6.4 banjos and oil and coolant filter
Sct itsx on iPad w/ Drew's tunes
Idp ficm tune
Snow water/meth
Empty bank account

Re: Higher than normal temps and Hesitation off idle

Nope truck runs great beyond the hesitation. That's kinda what I was thinking as well... Just wasn't prepared to put injectors in it...have a shop that is gonna work on it that a a couple hours a way but the owner is gonna trade me trucks while they look at it. So it kinda makes up for it.
