Re: coolant pressure problem?

I would take the tune off and return to stock or run the tow tune and see if it continues to do the same thing. also I would buy a new cap just to double check. good that you EOTs and ECTs are where they need to be.

Re: coolant pressure problem?

If its not building over 12-13psi at WOT, I wouldn't think it's HG's. But, I'm no expert.

Re: coolant pressure problem?

I agree with you 6speedSD thats what I'm hoping for but I'm not quite sure were else to point my fingers. but what concerns me is it stays around 9-11psi no matter what once up to operating temp. also if my gauge is reading 12 psi at maximum why is the cap puking gonna pick up another cap a the dealer tomorrow.

How was the surface of the heads and deck prepped when the HG's were done?

Re: coolant pressure problem?

I'd start with a new cap for sure. Too many parts these days are bad right out of the box.

I'd also make sure your degas tank doesn't have a crack somewhere. If it does, it could vent some of the pressure under a load and give you a false reading on your gauge. These tanks are prone to cracking.
