can it be anything besides head gasket??

I bought an 05 with ARP studs in it. My coolant cap has steam coming out from around it. No oil in coolant no coolant in oil. Egr delete done. Can it be anything besides my gaskets???

Dumb question but, are you sure the cap is good and holding 16 lbs pressure?

No I did replace it with an o relies cap. But I really dont think it ever sealed many the threads on the tank were cross threaded from the old cap?

Maybe get a new degas bottle or a used one from a wrecking yard, they gotta hold the 16 lbs or it will cause overheating issues because coolant boils easier at lower pressures.

The reason for the 16 lbs of pressure required for the cap to seal is to create a lower boiling point temperature due to pressure. If its cross threaded, either get the new cap to seat properly on the degas bottle or get a new one like Kelly has just stated. You may want to keep an eye on your temperature gauge and make sure its not bouncing around which will probably mean issues with your thermostat. keep us posted dude!
