Fuel issue or something else?

Mods are in my sig, brand new 155cc full force injectors, stock fuel pump. Truck has been running awesome up until about a week ago and have about 6000 trouble free miles lol. So this Cummins dually comes screaming up behind me blowing coal all over and obviously wants to run...so we ran from about 2nd gear to the top of 4th. I won (my only consolation) and began decelerating from about 3400rpm lightly breaking and coasting. As I tap the throttle the motor begins to run rough and vibrate a some. Zero white smoke, zero coolant or oil loss. I get about a mile down the road and it smooths right out and drives fine. For the last week it runs fine until I really get on it then same thing, runs rough but still builds boost and even accelerates (just not smoothly) for a mile or so then acts normal. I don't have a scanner and no hard codes....any ideas ?

Re: Fuel issue or something else?

Do you have an oil temp gauge? I'd be interested what your oil temperature was at the end of this drag race. Can't see your sig on this app to know what your truck has but have seen a deleted truck that had a fouled oil cooler have his oil temperature go over 240 but his clutch fan did not fully engage because he didn't have a EGR valve electrically connected. His would run like it was running on five cylinders after a hard run but fine before when it was cooler.

Re: Fuel issue or something else?

Hmmm that's very interesting and definitely worth looking into. I don't have any gauges yet unfortunately. The oil cooler is brand new as well as the entire engine, and I've kept up on oil changes every 3k or so miles. I'm going to be getting the AE scanner soon because it seems like a necessity with these trucks. Will also be getting some gauges. Can you think of other things, maybe faulty sensor, that may cause this? Thanks for your input

Re: Fuel issue or something else?

UPDATE... Just got my AE scanner and have been trying to figure out the datalogging feature. Trucks been running good still while driving normal. I did a live sensor check and oil temps were no higher than 200 same as coolant within 5*. Fuel pump read 99.98% always. Showed 0 misfires. No codes at all pertaining to powertrain or PCM. Ran the truck hard to about 75mph and what do ya know, stuttering like a bitch until it died on me. Waited about 5 minutes and after veeerrry long cranking started to run...like ####.

What should I monitor to best diagnose this further???

Re: Fuel issue or something else?

Put a mechanical fuel pressure gauge on it and drive it see how low pressure drops @ wot

Fixing ford diesels since before they had turbochargers

Re: Fuel issue or something else?

Change your oil and maybe add a antifoaming agent oil is probably foaming when you run it hard mine did it once and every one suggested ice and changed oil no more issue how long since you changed and how hard have you run it since.

Re: Fuel issue or something else?

What is your HPO pressure looking like when it's running badly? Have your STC , dummy plugs and stand pipes been updated?
