low ect

What is normal operating temp? I can't get above 184, usually sits at 182. Eot 196
Also trying to test hg with pressure gauge, but it's not showing anything. I got it too 4 psi than it dropped back down to 0. Is this normal?

Re: low ect

If you flushed the system AFTER you installed a new oil cooler, chances are you clogged it up and will be doing another cooler soon. ALWAYS flush BEFORE changing coolers. And the temp issue could be just a stuck t-stat.

And use Motorcrart oil coolers.

So flush the system again, than put a Ford cooler in? Or can I skip the flush since I just did it.

Re: low ect

I've heard bad things about those dorman coolers, I would do an OEM one from ford next time to be on the safe side.

Re: low ect

Thermostat is not even a week old. This is my second one I've installed since my last oil cooler. Replaced old cooler than flushed. I didn't know that was the wrong way too do it. With that said oriellys is willing to refund me my money for the dorman cooler, but am I getting a true reading? Ect won't get above 184, and I thought the thermostat doesn't open until 190? Or does the thermostat have nothing to do with the ect eot readings. I'm about ready to rip the engine apart, but do not want to if I don't have to.
